Interview With Abigail Duhon
It’s been almost a year since your first interview on Southern Country Life, have you done any exciting things since then that you’d like to share? And do you have any exciting things planned for the rest of the year?
Wow! Already a year. It’s been amazing! I signed with Dream Record label this year and I’m releasing an EP with them! I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of some amazing films this year, as well as working on some coming up soon! I’m excited to take on whatever God has next for me.
One thing that’s happened is you’ve recorded a new EP which is self titled “Abigail Duhon”. What was the inspiration for your new EP?
I really wanted to do an EP combining some of my favorite songs I’ve done in the past and new songs I’ve written along with some amazing producers. I feel like this EP is helping me to discover more of what my sound is as an artist and I’m really excited for its release.
Some of these songs I’ve heard before like, “Dance Up”, “More Than Gold” and “I’m Not Ashamed” and the rest I haven’t. Were the new songs written for this EP? Or are they songs you’ve written but were waiting for the right time to release?
These were songs I previously wrote that fit perfectly with the overall vibe of the EP. They mean a lot to me and I definitely wanted to have them in this new project to continue the message each one brings.
Since your interview on Southern Country Life, you’ve been singed to a Record Label. Can you tell us what that was like and how it feels to be a singed artist now?
It felt absolutely amazing to be signed by Dream. Like a Dream haha! I feel so honored to be a part of their label and know that God connected us to work together in making uplifting, relevant music for this generation.
